Minutes to the July 10, 2007 Board Meeting

Present: Peter Aten, President; Marlene Sullivan, Vice-President; Brian Govang, Treasurer; Bob LaMarche, Secretary

Annual Meeting
The Board reviewed the agenda for the Annual Meeting scheduled for August 4 and discussed the topics that will be presented to members. The Board strongly encouraged all members to attend, if possible. Those unable to attend are urged to send their voting proxies to Peter Aten prior to the meeting. Key topics that will be discussed at the meeting include: road maintenance, the Treasurer’s Report, voting on the annual assessment, alignment of Association by-laws with covenants, identifying new Association members to serve on the Board, and subdivision of lots after the 5-year moratorium and the potential effect on the Association. The Board has also extended an invitation to Beddington town officers, through Dottie Cardarelli, to send a representative to our Annual Meeting.

Road Maintenance
At the time of the Board meeting, all planned road maintenance work had been completed, including:

  • Installation of a new culvert near lot 49E to repair extreme pothole erosion that had become an annual problem there
  • Repair of Shorey Brook Hill erosion
  • Brush cutting on Eagles Cove Road (an area that was not included in the brush cutting done last year)

  • The Board also discussed future ongoing road maintenance issues that include brush cutting along both sides of the main road and adding extra gravel in trouble spots to build a more stable base.

    Speed Limit Signs
New speed limit signs have been posted along the main road. The Board recommends all members to observe the speed limit for safety and protection of the road from erosion. It also urges members to advise guests of the speed restrictions. NOTE: THE SPEED LIMIT APPLIES TO ALL WHEELED VEHICLES USING THE ROAD.

    Next Meeting
The next Board meeting will be held on July 24 at 7 pm.
