Minutes of the May 19, 2008 Board Meeting
Present: Peter Aten, President; Marlene Sullivan, Vice President; Brian Govang, Treasurer; Bob LaMarche, Secretary
April Minutes:
Board approved the minutes of the April 18 Board meeting.
Road Maintenance & Safety:
Brian reported that routine grading was being completed on the main road. The Board was made aware that grading costs will probably run 15% higher than last year due to the rising cost of fuel. It was also recommended to the Board that the Association install a new culvert to prevent further damage to the road in the area near the spring. The cost will be approximately $750, plus the 15% due to fuel cost. The Board unanimously approved funding the project. Scheduled brush cutting along the main road will be done in August. Brian reported that one speed limit sign was painted over with graffiti during the winter or spring. The sign has been replaced, and the Board will monitor future vandalism of this type.
Annual Meeting:
Board members discussed topics and logistics for the Association’s annual meeting, scheduled for August 2. The Board confirmed that notice of the meeting will be sent to members between June 15 and 20, along with all necessary supporting documents and information. Of particular importance at this meeting will be a membership vote on amending the association’s Articles of Incorporation to bring them into alignment with the Bylaws and Covenants. The package that will be mailed to members will include a letter that states the rationale and need for the proposed amendments. An absentee ballot will be included for those members who are unable to attend the meeting. The Board strongly urges all members to attend and vote. The meeting will be held at the Town Hall from 10-noon on August 2. The Association’s annual picnic will be held afterward. An invitation announcing the time and place for the picnic will be included in the meeting package.
Next Board Meeting:
A conference call has been set for Monday, June 9 at 7 pm.
