Minutes to Annual Meeting August 6, 2022

Beddington Lake East Road Maintenance Association

Annual Meeting Minutes of August 6th, 2022, Board Meeting

Prior to the meeting Select Person Jean Kaye and Fire Chief Mike Loughlin addressed the association on several topics. Ms. Kaye discussed property taxes, stating Beddington has one of the lowest property taxes in the state and the State is pushing for reevaluations of property in town. The current mill rate is 7. She also discussed the E911 address for the town, in most cases these will be different than the lot numbers. The E911 address can be found on the tax bill. These address numbers should be used anytime that an emergency is called into the state or county.

Fire Chief Loughlin discussed fire safety in regards to outdoors burning. He stated that permits are required for burning brush and other outdoor fires. He stated this has been a very dry summer and fires can get out of control very quickly and that it could take about an hour for fire departments to respond. Chief Loughlin can be reached at 207-638-2258 if you have questions or to obtain a burn permit.
