Town Meeting updates and changes – Jean Kaye (Selectboard Chair)

started 10:06

1. Taxes went up. State indicated taxes too low, assessors could come in or adjust your mill rate (lowest taxes in the state. Lowest mill rate in the state (6.9) and would cost a lot of money. Instead they raised the taxes to not have the state involved.

2. We have 13-14 fireman in the summer

3. County auditing years 23-25

4. Town got new brush truck

5. Tree growth (tax benefits) needs to be updated every 10 years and fill out the proper paperwork.

6. Norway Pines. Red Pines. Dead trees (3-5 years all the red pines will be dead in the state). Take them down in the fall. Do not remove them from your property, burn them. Don’t move it elsewhere. Take pictures (if they are within the 250 feet) of resource protection. 100 feet within the lake. Don’t take stumps if on slope (it will cause erosion). The tree must be infested to take it down. Only take the dead ones.

10:28 finished.
